When shipping any type of media, it is very important to package it correctly to prevent further damage. Shipping media is very safe, and straight forward. If the media has the potential to be part of litigation it is important to ship it to one of the below FedEx centers, and have it held for pickup. This is for positive control of the media, maintaining the "chain of custody". If you are located in Colorado door to door service might be available where HTI can pickup and return the media. Call for available areas.
Step 1: Wrap the media in anti-static material. Most IT departments will have an assortment to choose from to completely cover the media.
Step 2: Use a box twice the size of the media to pack it in. Surround the media with foam or bubble wrap to prevent any movement inside the box.
Step 3: Make sure to include a signed work authorization and prefered nondisclosure agreement if required.
Step 4: Make sure to identify the content as sensitve computer components, and email or fax the tracking number to HTI.
